Christmas Night

Liveaboard boaters from CYC and Gangplank Marina gathered around The Wharf firepit on Christmas night for some much needed camaraderie. Huge thanks to CYC for planning the event. The wood was a little wet from the rain but that didn’t stop the fire or anyone from having a good time. If anyone would have told us we’d be sitting around the firepit in shorts and flip-flips in December we would… Read More »Christmas Night

J’s Farewell Party

Not long ago we received the news that our General Manager, Jerome Nickerson, would be leaving the marina to pursue other opportunities in Hawaii. J has been Gangplank Marina’s General Manager for a number of years. While we are sad to see him go, we certainly wish him well! Gangplankers gathered on “Laconic” for a farewell party on the night of December 21, 2015. (Photo credit: Melissa Wetzler) Thanks for… Read More »J’s Farewell Party

Dinghy Caroling 2015

On a chilly winter night, as they do every year, Gangplank slipholders boarded their dinghies, kayaks, and SUPs, to spread Holiday cheer to all the liveaboard boaters. This year there were over 15 slipholders participating in Dinghy Caroling on the night of December 16th. Songs included “Jingle Bell Rock”, “Silent Night”, “Holly Jolly Christmas”, and more! Return of the “Peggie”

The Peg Leg Award (AKA “Peggie”) was created in 2012 to recognize deeds that form the foundation of our community. The award is given in recognition of being a good neighbor. Why a peg leg? Because we live on boats! And because we think that a good neighbor often provides support beyond what we are capable of doing alone. The Peggie highlights the strong sense of community that makes living… Read More »Return of the “Peggie”

Peg Leg Award (AKA Peggie) – Celebrating Community at Gangplank

Travis and Jess with their Peggie! GPSA started a new tradition at our January meeting last Tuesday. Recently, our board decided that we wanted to do more to recognize the strong sense of community that makes living at Gangplank Marina so special. That sense of community exists due in no small part to the small acts of kindness that slipholders impart to one another on a regular basis.  We decided GPSA… Read More »Peg Leg Award (AKA Peggie) – Celebrating Community at Gangplank
