Flag day is this Friday, June 14. Local blogger and DC statehood advocate, Josh Burch, has launched a campaign to photograph individuals, families, friends, and community members across the District displaying their DC flag this flag week to support DC statehood.
Charles Allen decided to make the campaign even more interesting by organizing daily themes for each day of the week, daily prizes, and the possibility of having your photo printed in The Hill Rag!
Let’s make sure SW DC is well represented!
Below is information regarding the daily themes and how to submit your photo:
DC Flag Day Themes:
Wednesday: DC icon photo (take your pictures at notable spots like Gangplank Marina, Eastern Market, Yards Park, Congressional Cemetery, or another local favorite spot)
Thursday: School spirit photo (get pictures from your local schools with all the kids with flags)
Friday: Friends and Family photo (get your front porch type of pictures; and yes, pets are part of the family!)
