Then we ate Union Pie pizza! Jason was Master of Ceremonies, Roger told us about the history of our S.S. Marge Barge (aka the Party Barge), and Andy Litsky, our ANC representative spoke of his history representing our liveaboard community here in DC.
As told by Roger Thiel during our 2021 Liveaboard Boater Day:
“A few years ago,
after great political help from a woman on shore named Marge, we
temporarily named this floating pavillon the S.S. Marge Barge.
Each week, we usually have two events: Happy Hour. which is a pot-
luck group-party most Thursday nights, and every Sunday morning, we hold
what we call our Captain’s Coffee. Started 20 years ago by our POWYC
founder, the late Stan Grubaugh.”
