Fun in the winter – Gangplank-style! – by your neighbors

Grab your neighbors and get started!
It’s winter, and we all can use new ideas for fun stuff to do around here. 😉

Some of these ideas are good for a small group, others are for a large group, and some could be used for either!

Annual “Burning of the Winter Socks”

Movies with heated blankets

Let’s visit our neighbors at CYC.

Order dinner in w/a small group.

So many Happy Hours at our Wharf bars.

Let’s visit a museum!

  • I went to Hillwood museum (home of Marjorie Post) last week it was super cool – I have lived here all my life and never knew it was there – they had a wreath making class when we were there – they have largest collection of Imperial Russian artifacts in the world and amazing French collection as well – the diamonds and jewels were soo large they looked like they were from Claire’s at the mall!! Faberge eggs etc – I recommend it for our list!

Help out by volunteering at the Food Pantry on every other Friday.

Ice skate at:

  •  Wharf
  • Sculpture Garden
  • National Harbor
  • Canal Park in Navy Yard – it’s laid out like a path instead of a rink.

Traveling Dinner Party – small group

  • Apps at one boat
  • Mains on another boat
  • After-dinner drinks on another boat

Bocci Ball with spiked cocoa 🙂

Bocci in the Park

Putt Putt Golf! Dinghy or walk to Hanes Point

Tastings on the Docks – Whiskey/Bourbon/Scotch/Beer/Wine

Game nights? Scrabble, cards, etc

“Speed Neighbor Dates” where anyone can drop by for a few minutes or a few hours.  Would love to collect liveaboard tips and tricks in exchange for some mulled wine or egg nog

And I will keep adding more ideas as I receive them 🙂
